Turfgrasses
Dr. Bridget Ruemmele, University of Rhode Island, 2 years, $5,500/year.
Objective(s): 1. Several cultivars and/or mixes of Kentucky bluegrasses and/or perennial
ryegrasses will be assessed for tolerance to reduced mowing heights and wear.
2000 Results: Eighteen cultivars or Turfgrass mixtures were seeded and replicated during the spring of 2000. Kentucky Bluegrass cultivars were seeded alone or with fine fescues or perennial ryegrasses. Some establishment problems were experienced from heavy rainfall. Management parameters will begin during the spring of 2001.
